good walking and good eats

pretty tired after drift day and saturday night fun, i went for a small hike in pacific palisades. was shown this place the week before, but some other friends wanted to check it out. i tried to take some photos with walter’s camera, but they all sucked. so only a couple are post worthy.

then to kill time before dinner it was off to 3rd street.

i found a giant ugly doll of the bat we used to have for endless night. i would buy it, if it wasnt dumb to have a giant doll and it wasnt $600.

a restaurant i havent seen before, in the middle of the promenade. looked, and definitely smelled, pretty delicious.

to kill even more time, since we were early for the dinner reservation, we stopped in mitsuwa. i was able to stare at all the food and make myself even more hungry.

finally it was time to eat. this place was called Musha and was some sort of japanese bbq. some of the best food i have had in a long while. we got a bunch of dishes, some kimchi udon, some sort of fried thing, something with egg, and then some meats to grill. i have no idea what everything was, but it was good. i know we grilled some tongue, squid, and sting ray.

and to finish it off, since no one was full, we got some risotto rice. if this doesnt fill you up, nothing will. so good, but so sickening. they even serve it to you in a giant piece of cheese.

no more awesome LA eats until next year. going back to maryland tomorrow.

lost in translation

16931__lost_in_translation_l.jpg

A movie that I found hilarious and has become one of my favorite movies is Lost in Translation directed by Sofia Coppola starring Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson. (I actually own the DVD and I only own about 5 DVDs.)

Anyways at the end of the movie Bill Murray whispers something to Scarlett and you never find out what it is. Sofia Coppola claims that nothing was scripted and only Bill and Scarlett know. User vid22dotcom on youtube claims to have “digitally processed” the scene so you can hear the words. So if you have created something in your mind prior to this here is a SPOILER ALERT! video below

drift day 40

after a day of drifting, many body parts broken and tires used, i have found a good 18″ tire that doesnt fall apart. i will probably be running nexen on the 18s from now. just as cheap at federal, less grip, less smoke, but no chunk. good enough for me. now for some pics.

couple other cars there.

city tire guys. stealing all my monies.

the fc at the beginning of the day. all parts still on car

at the end of the day. i guess you arent supposed to hit the clipping point

irvine never seemed so far. happy to finally be back to la.

no more drifting until next year.

Drift Day 39

drift day 39 down at el toro on nov 17th was pretty cool. tons of track time and not enough tires. the city tire online guys were out there with tons of business, trying to mount everyones tires. nothing bad happened to the car. which is always good when you have an fc. fresh rebuild and turbo made tons of power. now its time for bigger tires. and way more practice.

some pics that walter took with his super awesome camera which turned out pretty good, although i had some dumb wheels on the back. please ignore them.

body parts kept falling off and i have no idea why.

cownd

and then some pictures the everything drift guys took when i had good wheels on the back
