finally…
the power of the internet
the internet has always been a great resource but you have got to check this out. a skyline gtr was stolen from a car dealer in canada and the owner just posted it on a local forum. within 2 days the culprit was caught with the help of the internet! the news spread like wildfire all over the internet to various car forums and even non-car forums. pictures were snapped of this kid and cops were called in. biggest clue in finding the kid was that he was missing 2 fingers!
here is a picture that JAYMEZ from the Beyond forums (read more at the site) snapped of the kid driving the skyline after he stole it. (notice his missing fingers)

great stuff! so next time you lose something…post it on the internet!
cliffnotes if you dont read the entire forum::
- kid went to used car dealership to look at gtr
- uses fake name and number, is allowed to take on test drive by himself
- doesnt come back
- owner posts on forum to keep a look out for his car
- turns out the kid is out joy riding trying to race people, for 2 days.
- people see him, take pictures
- find his address stake out his house
- find his facebook, and his gf’s facebook
- kid shows up at his house with skyline, the kids staking out the house wait and block it in
- cops show up, guy gets his car back
why get sti?
when you could get this?

ill let dave get the new sti, ill get the new evo x and then we can dual. i was a fan of the sti until i saw it at the auto show. but neither the sti nor evo x looked that great. but after reading about the performance of the new evo and seeing this, im sold.
car update
A quick update on the project car since it’s too cold to actually work on it…
This is just part of what I’ve been working on lately but the weather isn’t cooperating as you saw a few posts down. And today it decided to snow again. What wonderful weather and its almost march already!
and yes i’ve put a heater in the garage but when the temperature is below freezing the ground,
laying on the ground is like laying on a sheet of ice.

2008 Washington Auto Show
Got a chance this weekend to head down to DC and check out the 2008 auto show. I mainly wanted to go peep the new Nissan GTR. There was an unbelievable amount of people down there and with lots of people you know that they sure like to rape people on these “special event parking” situations. $20-$25 to park. I ended up circling for about a hour until I finally found some street parking. $12 to get in and spent a few hours looking around. Also bumped into quite a few old friends. It seems cars will always bring me to friends. Enough talk…onto pictures. These were taken with my new point and shoot canon sd850is. pretty nifty lil P&S.
lower level consisted of mostly imports
Chevy’s main attraction. there was way too big of a crowd to even attempt to take a picture of the Z06

new pontiac g8 (I had high hopes for this car but I must say I was disappointed, its just not exciting)

I need me one of these…imagine how many gir….yea you catch my drift

here’s the main reason I went. now if only i could afford one

drift day 40
after a day of drifting, many body parts broken and tires used, i have found a good 18″ tire that doesnt fall apart. i will probably be running nexen on the 18s from now. just as cheap at federal, less grip, less smoke, but no chunk. good enough for me. now for some pics.
couple other cars there.

city tire guys. stealing all my monies.

the fc at the beginning of the day. all parts still on car

at the end of the day. i guess you arent supposed to hit the clipping point

irvine never seemed so far. happy to finally be back to la.
